Adhesion failures and de-laminating are common reasons for product and equipment failure.  Water and other vapours seep into the wrong places, sometimes in huge quantities, causing delamination and a series of other adhesion problems. Versaperm permeability measurement equipment can help solve the problem.

Water is actually the world's most damaging contaminant.

Many materials used in adhesives, mastics or bonding films can form an effective barrier against liquids such as water, but when it comes to vapours they can be virtually useless as barriers. Silicone, cellulose, EVOH or PVOH, for example offer virtually no barrier to water vapour.

The Versaperm's range of multi-gas vapour permeability measurement equipment has been introduced specifically to overcome these problems during the product development and QC phases of the manufacturing cycle.  It offers the ability to test and develop both materials and components and determine the effects of manufacturing techniques as well as the exact combination of ingredients or materials used. 

It can optionally be used to test up to three flat samples, components and even complete products at a time and it works for water vapour and virtually every gas in general use – including oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, hydrocarbons.

The Versaperm system is fast, easy to use and intuitive, accuracies are measured in the parts per million or per billion ranges for most adhesives, mastics and bonding films. 

As well as manufacturing the instruments, Versaperm offers a permeability laboratory service for companies that need to test samples on an irregular basis.
